Everyone uses computers for different reasons, some people just need to send and receive email, do some web browsing and edit a few family photos. For this you do not need a top end computer and £3-400 will easily get you what you need.

If your an avid gamer your needs will be very different. For high end games you need high end equipment but even so you don't need to spend a fortune. Around £5-700 will get you a very respectable gaming pc and of course it can fill many other rolls also, including those listed for the Budget PC
MEDIA CENTRE PC
These days there's more to a pc than spreadsheets and surfing the net. A pc can become a hub for your home entertainment needs. It can take it's place next to you tv, streaming media around your home, allowing you to record and pause live tv, play music and video's in a wide range of formats and if you have a high end video card fitted play games too! Prices vary from £400 to over £1000 depending on your requirements.
